A little obsessional

To those of you who read my blog, you will have become aware, or i'd have thought so that i don't much care about my self image when writing all this. Unfortunately, the thing I wish to talk about next is even beyond my range of lack of interest in myself.

So, here goes - before I get embarrassed and go find a corner to sit in - I shall tell you the truth of the matter.

To those of you without blogs, there are a few things that us bloggers see that you don't. We get a 'Dashboard' from which we can see posts of those we follow, and our comments, followers and such like. But the button I wish to tell you about is the - evil -  one called 'Stats'

This button opens a door to the world of vanity, despair, happiness, sadness and just about every other emotion you can think of. This button shows you how many views your blog has had, today, yesterday, last week, last month, and over the entire time it's been running. Now this is great, it can tell you what's going on, there is even a map so you can see where your readers and logging on from.

Now, the problem with this button is that despite all my efforts - I say all - I logon on this blog, most often not to write a new post, but to simply check if anyone outside the UK has read it yet - I really want american fan girls!!! - or if it has been viewed more times today than it was yesterday. It's really rather pathetic, and i've actually got really hung up on this. So in all the time i've been here, since December 25th 2010 to be precise, my infinite wisdom has spread it's wings to this.

Unfortunately for me, my highest views in a day was on the 30th December 2010, the day that I re-read all my posts one by one, going on to each one individually. I thought I was suddenly making it big, every time i checked my stats someone else was reading it, right then and there, and there was always one more view.

It was only on the 31st that I realised there was a button that stopped it from counting views from myself...

I'm down from 14 a day to roughly 3.

Great.
